I'm going to tell you about the Roger Bannister effect and how it applies to hospital costs.
Roger Bannister was the first person who broke the 4-minute mile.
Before that, everybody thought humans were physically incapable of breaking the 4-minute mile.
Yet Roger broke it.
And then something interesting happened:
Once people started believing that it was possible to break it, many more people could suddenly achieve the feat.
Why am I telling you this?
It’s because when we tell our hospitals that they can save 15% or more in their cost, we face a lot of mental resistance.
They say, “Well, there's not a whole lot of money left in pricing. So, we've got to look at other areas.”
That's true - you must look at other areas, but I'm here to tell you that you can have a 15% pricing reduction opportunity in your costs.
And once we work with them and start achieving those new price points, their belief system changes, and they get more engaged.
It’s truly remarkable how much of what we believe influences what we can or can’t do in the world.
