You can’t solve your cost problems by changing your GPO.
Focus on these 2 ways instead:
1. Negotiate contracts:
It’s important to have direct contracts with the vendors.
Since you already have specializations, buying power, negotiation abilities, and pricing insights, you must directly work with a vendor and create a local agreement that fits your needs.
2. Involve physicians:
You need to get physicians involved in the supply chain and the cost process so that they understand the cost and profitability of the hospital.
Bringing them into that dynamic will solve many of your cost savings issues.
